I require 50% of your fee paid up front when you sign your contract, and the remainder is to be paid by 36 weeks to schedule me for your birth.
Medicaid (Oregon Health Plan)
Service Fee is $1500 - Birthing Families who have Medicaid would have no out of pocket expense.
Commercial Insurance Plans - Doulas are not allowed to bill private insurance companies directly for payment. For Insurance reimbursement, you would pay for your doula care upfront. Upon Completion of your services, I will provide you with a Superbill to turn into your Insurance Company in the attempt to get reimbursed. Coverage varies, so checking directly with your insurance company is the best way to confirm your benefits.
TRICARE Benefit Coverage
Up to six visits are included before or after giving birth for pregnant beneficiaries who are at least 20 weeks. You must be under the care of a TRICARE authorized provider. Beneficiaries who give birth at a clinic or military hospital are not covered for these services.
Flex Spending Accounts - FSA/HSA Coverage
If you have an FSA (Financial Savings Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) you may be able to pay directly with your HSA debit card. The IRS recognizes doula care as a qualified medical expense, making it a tax-advantaged way to invest in birth support. Contact your company for more information. Some accounts require you to pay for services in full and then turn in the receipt to them for reimbursement and others will allow you to use your Flex card.
Moda - PEBB (Public Educators Benefit Board) Members/OEBB (Oregon Educators Benefit Board) Members
Eligible Plans cover up to 8 visits and support for your birth. This may be an out-of-pocket expense. Please contact your provider for further clarification.
